Kokeshi Decorated Cookies by Sweetopia

“So what are kokeshi?
According to Wikipedia:

“Kokeshi (こけし kokeshi), are Japanese dolls, originally from northern Japan. They are handmade from wood, have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. The body has a floral design painted in red, black, and sometimes yellow, and covered with a layer of wax. One characteristic of kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs. The bottom is marked with the signature of the artist.”
I’ve been seeing them around everywhere, and am drawn to their cuteness, or as I’ve recently learned, how ‘kawaii’ they are. (Kawaii means cute in Japanese).”

standtallandbreathe asked: Hello! :) I need some assistance, I'm going to make a simple treat basket for my boss, and I don't want to make simple chocolate chip cookies, but instead something as simple as that, but a little more fun and different. Make sense?! Hahaha! Could you suggest so fun, but simple and cheap recipes that I could stuff in the basket? 💙

  1. cake balls (different flavors, colors) You can buy pre-made cakes
  2. truffles (different flavors, colors)
  3. mini pies (you can buy pre-made pie dough and make pie pops, pre-made fillings)

**you can find recipes for these under my tags page (search recipes page)

Like i said, the best way to minimize ingredients for these recipes is to buy pre-made cake, pre-made pie crust, pre-made fillings (jam, marmalade, custards, pudding etc)
They should fit nicely in a basket, depending on how you decorate it :) Good luck xx
