wednesday-d asked: Hi! I love this blog and thank you so much for all the work you put into it. I am a recent follower and although I tried to go through as much of your tags as possible I still didn't find what I was looking for so I decided to ask if that's okay. My friends and family really love my cheesecakes, but...I don't. Like, at all. I'm not a big fan of the cream cheese taste. Is there something of an alternative recipe that I can use when it comes to cheesecakes?
This is a great question! You don’t necessarily have to use cream cheese when making a cheesecake.
You can use recipes like below (however mascarpone is considered sorta the cream cheese of Europe, but the fat content/texture is different so you might like it or think it’s too similar…)
Maybe mixing a recipe that uses both cream cheese and ricotta, or cottage cheese, or yogurt, or sour cream can change the flavor a little for you.
But of course you can opt to use a recipe that doesn’t use cream cheese at all like the ones above.
