heyitsmariel asked: Do you maybe have some suggestions for adding kale to smoothies and juices without the flavor being overpowering? I like it in salads and want to try it in a new way but the usual recipes I'm finding are mostly comprised of kale, parsley, ginger and apple. Basically, do you know of any recipes that are fruitier with the kale element? Btw I love love love your blog and trying recipes I find on here!:)
I have this recipe you might like… it incorporates lots of different fruits so the kale flavor isn’t as strong
Let me know if it works out for you :) and thanks for the lovely kind words :) xx

DIY Flag Milk Ice Cubes
I know I just re-blogged the Rachael Ray Ice Cubes, but this one literally needs it’s own post… maybe using real fruits for color is a better idea though… check it out what their blog says:
Show your patriotism with these colorful treats! Use food coloring to dye milk red and blue, then freeze one layer at a time: red, regular milk, then blue. Serve in a vanilla milkshake!
This is actually a very good question so I wanted to answer it publicly. The reason that it curdles is because of the protein in the dairy ingredients + the citrus of the fruit.
You either have to:
1) make the smoothie and drink it right away (if not it will get curdled if you let it sit)
2) pre-mix the fruits together, save it in the fridge, and when ready to serve, blend the dairy+citrus ingredients right before serving.
But then again you can avoid all this commotion by not using any dairy at all and use soy milk, rice milk, coconut milk etc… that’s if you like those?
DIY ALMOND MILK
I blend creamy almond milk into smoothies, stir it into my tea and pour it on my cereal. It’s easy to make your own—plus, homemade tastes fresher and is way cheaper! Click on the photos above for the easy 3-step process!
