liveserased asked: I hate icing and when I saw those wedding cakes at first I was like "oh wow those are different and pretty," and then I was like "..WAIT ARE THOSE WEDDING CAKES WITHOUT ICING?!?" Awesome
Yes I agree, they seem unpretentious. Have you seen those weddings where the bride/bridesmaids wears cow girl boots at the wedding???
This is the type of personality you have to have in order to pull this kind of wedding off. I think it’s a really awesome alternative to traditional wedding cakes. I would do something like this myself, I can totally pull off a zany/classy/fun wedding LOL
This is a collection of tutorials on how to make sugared fruits for various desserts. They’re deliciously beautiful for wedding cakes or something as small as mini tartlets!
So don’t get intimidated by the pictures above, you can make this at home for mini pies, regular pies, cheesecakes, angel food cakes, tarts, etc etc etc! BE CREATIVE!
On another note, the last cake reminds me of an episode of Julia Child’s PBS TV show where Martha Stewart was the guest and she made this beautiful marzipan almond cake for a segment. It was very cool to see these two fab diva’s interacting! However these are real fruit not marzipan…. watcha waiting for??? click the link to learn to decorate them! ;)
This guide shows you the size of cake you will need to feed all the guests at any event.
If you are planning a wedding, you may love the look of the very tall tiered cake but if you are having a wedding with just 50 guests, if you look at the guide, then three smaller tiers would be plenty!
“These servings are for one layer 2” tall cakes. Most cakes are 3” tall, so double the portions you see.” — ShakarBakery Cakes
